andyf 144
Basically NO it's not worth it, that is if you don't shoot 1,000's a year, or you have 3" non toxic, or big bore 10g 8g etc. Lead shot is fairly expensive, and of course heavy, so you need to collect it from the supplier. A 'decent' reloading set-up will cost £250>300, but Lee Load-All can be got for £60'ish, plastic and basic but works ok. I load 12g heavy shot AAA, #4buck for Foxing, but I bought 20lbs of No5 and loaded up some 32gr game loads just for the sake of it, getting the powder can be a bit bothersome, Green Dot and HS4 are about. I make my own AAA & #4Buck in moulds bought in the USA, again a lot of messing about but if your interested a bit of fun? Most clay competitions do not allow reloads. 1 Quote Link to post
Hydropotesinermis 724
What andyf said. I reload for my 10Bore and have reloaded for 12 in the past but really speaking for 12g you may as well just buy cartridges, they are mass produced so you will struggle to make back what you spend on the gear in savings on cartridges if you see my meaning. That said I shoot quite a lot of .410 so I might start homeloading those. Quote Link to post
