shovel leaner 7,650
It's so easy to slip into self righteousness, isn't it? Snorting coke & fcuking prostitutes is considered pretty normal behaviour amongst a lot folk I know........ I am not being self righteous . Personally I don't care what adults get up to with other adults . The problem is for politicians is that behaviour like this leaves them open to extortion and blackmail . Also is it too much to ask that the people who are making decisions that affect our lives and are employed by us arnt taking drugs ? At last , some common sense . I wasn't actually pointing the finger at you mate.........just talking generally...... But you have highlighted a good point about drugs & what is socially acceptable in society........... .....if it was found he was drinking half a bottle of good quality single malt every night, I very much doubt his competence in the job would be questioned publicly, would it? & yet a gram of coke & some illicit sex suddenly puts him in the realms of incompetence....... It's surely about what is legal and what is not. And what he did was illegal when he is supposed to be actually upholding the law more so than anyone else in the country really.Drinking whiskey is legal...snorting coke isn't. He is a criminal and therefore, how can he be in charge of the very people who make laws?
Lab 10,979
I doubt the Beatles , Hendrix or the Rolling Stones would have been as successful as they were without narcotics . But that doesn't mean they we're fit to run the country .i mean , can you imagine Kieth Richards at prime ministers question time ? What bubble are you living in? I'm pretty sure there's top flight people in all walks of life with even more important jobs.....like surgeons and pilots who love a night on the coke followed by a few tasty high class hookers. It's 2015 not 1915.....??

I ain't living in a bubble , if you read one of my earlier posts I said they are all "at it" . That doesn't make it acceptable for politicians to take illegal drugs and smash hookers . In that case lets have some honesty . When they canvas our votes , why don't they include on their hobbys and interests in their leaflets , charity work , watching Rugby , stamp collecting , recreational drug use and f--king prostitutes . How many votes do you think they would get ? One , yours !!!

It's 2015 not 1915..... Yeah there are plenty of folk who love a night on the coke, it's why the military and haulage firms test for it. Nobody really interviews them herberts who have come skidding down from £30/40/50k a yr to benefitsville, there are plenty out there...i know one who still dont get it, i told him about his manners twice and a month later he was sacked for roasting young female assistants (coming down during the day whilst at work)...Mps on coke, it would'nt take the unscrupulous long to get thier hands in the till.
