leegreen 2,180
My neighbour flies a Spitfire for flybys etc, don't know how much they charge. He is often flying over to give his son a wave, our customers love it. He did a 50th fly by for one of my neighbours, seemed very illegal but was fantastic to watch. bird 9,941
I had a flying lesson once. Someone bought it for my father in law who bottled it a bit, and gave it to me. I have to say, its an experience, but you don't half feel vulnerable at 1000ft only surrounded by a bubble of fibreglass. The landing, into a crosswind, was a bit hairy too. Probably not for me. Mistakes are expensive when you're flying something marginally stronger than a shoebox.

The Seeker 3,048
I took my PPL several years ago did about 3/4 of the training but had to pack it in due to the money. I will never forget my first solo flight from Sherburn, we landed the instructor said just pull over to the apron I need to drop something off at the tower he got out said "take it round once and bring it back, don't bend my bloody aircraft" with that he didn't even give me a chance to reply he just slammed the door and buggerd off

With a huge smile LOL everything was going fine until I got to 500 ft and started my climbing turn to get onto the downwind leg it was then I looked over and realised there wasn't anybody sat at the side of me. I shat myself and laughed out loud at the same time it was a fantastic memory. Flew many solo flights afterwards but that first can never be repeated
Flipper_Al 1,012
Best fun I ever had while Gliding was wave soaring up in Scotland... We would trailer the gliders up to Aboyne, 350 miles at 60mph was not fun...but the flying was worth it To climb over 12000ft you need oxygen installed, we climbed to over 200000ft minus 30 inside the cockpit, but your in sunshine, so just the controls that get cold to the touch Have a look at Deeside Gliding Clubs website.. So much fun no engine lol
