Can I Have A Restart Please?

Apologies to the forum...

To prove I'm a typical bloke, I read the instructions AFTER I had posted my Noobie Hello! :whistling:

I hope that you can take kindly to a not so old pensioner who feels more active now than he did half his years ago.

I happened upon your forum whilst researching DIY night vision. I can't afford and don't have, the sort of wedge that is being asked for the present offerings.

I have an inbuilt love of weapons, working at Chiltern's the Gunsmiths in Wolverhampton for some years, where we made locks and stocks and barrels for Holland & Holland, we also did repairs and servicing on some very fine 410, 12 and 20 bore shotguns, but because the then new laws regarding guns meant we lost some of the finest gunsmiths and gun shops, I found myself in a mechanical engineering field, really not the same, but one has to eat.

I was fortunate enough to work in places were we would travel the globe to sort out some major problems, mostly with the supply of clean water in remote areas, a very rewarding job, that I enjoyed immensely.

Anyway, you don't want an ole geezers ramblings...

I'm a born again air gunner and own several nice weapons, all in .22, break barrel, CO2 and PCP. I use them for plinking and vermin control. I have a local permission which keeps me reasonably active in my spare time, not that there's much of that because I do a lot of wood and metal work in my 'shed' - nice and safe away from 'er in doors'.

I travel abroad quite a bit, got back from Valencia only Friday, 38c most days and even the rain was warm

I'd like to find a club or group, with the aim of doing more varied shooting in various locations, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure what to say here and really don't want to bore anyone with old tales so I'd best wrap this up and hope I can be of some use with in the forums.

Sincerely

George

Gentlemen, you make me blush :icon_redface: , with a welcome of such proportions, I can only fail to live up to expectations.

I will, however, make an attempt to be as helpful as I can.

I, too, hail from Brum Dave, born on a canal boat in Gas St basin in 1946, went on to live in Allcroft Rd, Hall Green, before moving to Wolves.

I've got a major rebuild job on a 2250B, hence the search that brought me to your site.

More later chaps (and chapesses, can't forget the ladies can we :whistling:

Welcome George,

Have you not been tempted by .177 or .25 for plinking.

When I started with air guns in the 70's, hunting was just about

all .22 and tin cans .177.

How things have changed.

All the best and enjoy the forum.

Phil.
