Bolt Nets

Got to do a media piece on Ferreting and its evolution and I need to clear a few things up, anyone ever used bolt nets, basically they are just nets without drawstrings and pegs, I just need to know why you use them and if they work well. If theirs anything else i wil stick it up on here for you lot.

never heard of them and can not see how they would work with out the pegs or draw cord after all it's the peg what holds the rabbit in the net

When I was a kid we used ordinary nets which were not purse nets so did not have a draw string or peg.

The rabbits bolted into the net and they were tangled and scrabbling about on the grass.

This was sufficient to hold them until we grabbed them.I guess this would be called a "bolt net"? ;)
