Can't even initiate conversation with the wife half the time lol

we put men on the moon long before we put little wheels on suitcases ....how funked up is that?

hmm I don't have a watch of this it's not long and very interesting '

So, just to clear me up a bit here......Hawkins don't entertain the possibility of a creator but he does entertain the possibility of Aliens.....is that right ?

That's not really a fair statement. Possibility? Of course he acknowledges the possibility, as far as I'm aware he always has. As far as I'm aware even the hated Dawkins acknowledges the possibility.

They can both still be atheists.

Ahh, fair play mate......I get it.

It seems strange then that someone like Dawkins entertains the possibility but spends his life ridiculing that same possibility......that's a bit silly don't you think?

If he is truly how he is painted by many then I think he's a little silly full stop. I don't think it's fair to ridicule anybody unprovoked, especially such a large proportion of society, regardless of how ridiculous their belief may seem to others. But I haven't given the man very much of my time, so I'm not well placed to comment.

But let's be honest, everything is possible. Literally everything. So I can understand why people think that something they consider completely implausible/improbable is ridiculous. Surely there are subjects which you feel similarly on?

And just to point out, Hawking hasn't come out to say he believes in a creator (in the religious sense), just that he believes there is some sort of intelligence behind the creation of the universe.... that could be a simple computer programme....... not exactly a sentient creator is it?

None of this is helping us determine much about life in this Universe though, LOL.

A computer programming born, now that's a bit overboard, lol

Give this man twenty mins of your time, an it will show how mindbogglingly complicated the universe is, it hurts your head, I just can't see how it could of happened by chance, plus there's no empirical evidence to support it.

Do you think it happened by chance? Mathematics don't do chance, lol

Fifteen years mate, but I still know there's a difference between chance an probability, is there not, an math don't do chance, probability yes, chance no.

It's called probability theory.

How long is it since you've studied mathematics? LOL

Yes, probability is chance quantified. Probability theory is the mathematical measurement of chance. So, mathematics does do chance, it calculates it as a probability. Without probability, chance alone means very little.

If you mean why did they bother putting keplar. Up there and not just do it from earth then the answer is they have to do it from outside the earth's atmosphere to get clear observations away from pollution and clouds ect ect

the point I was trying to make is they only travelled a short distance to get them pics, if the observatory only up there 6 years. 6 from 1400 they must be able to see it from here, now they know were it is

Right, I get ya. The observatory hasn't been traveling anywhere as such, it's just been in orbit around the Sun. It's not really any closer to Kepler than we are here. The reason for sending it 'up there' wasn't to get closer to anything of interest, it was because space observatories have big advantages over Earth based observatories for a number of reasons. It can do it's job much better up there than it could down here.

So since it's mission began, it's been looking at a small part of the milky way that is of interest and logging planets that it discovers. Thousands to date I believe with a few that are considered real possibilities for life. This Kepler-452b is the most similar to Earth.

I was a believer until he started going on about the dark side and stated Harry Potter films are a danger to us...

For children there are mate, desensitive children, to the occult big time, its full of witchcraft black magic, etc

If you knew anything about the occult, you'd realize, it would have a negative impact on children's mind.
