Are many traveling showmen of gypsey blood?

Showmen and gypsys mixed a lot more freely a few generations back and are closer related than people think but we are different I got family in Ashford and feltham mate what yards are you near?

There are Gypsies who stop at the side of the road and do no one any harm. They will have a chat about this and that and dogs/horses. They are country people and usually leave without trace. Then theres p***y scum who know nothing about dogs/horses or anything else because whilst trying to kid everyone else they kid themselves. They are chavs plain and simple and have more knowledge of fashion and drugs than nature and the countrside. Thats my experience..

Hi mate, I live right near the yard which you get to down the side of Clockhouse Lane Park.

Do you mean bobby Rawlings place as your coming from bedfont over the bridge turn left down the little lane by the side of the park

From what I've seen and read, it would seem it's only the bad ones that need labels. I'm sure if I met marshman in my mind I'd label him a "nice guy" rather than feel the need to specify his ethnicity.

 

Conversely, if my garden was robbed by a couple of travellers, you can bet their ethnicity would be mentioned before anything else.

 

This doesn't just apply to gipsys by the way. :thumbs:

And then confirmation bias kicks in and you start thinking all travellers (or whatever group) are wronguns 'cause you only take notice of the wronguns :yes:

i remember when i first moved in this house about 30 yrs ago a lovely bloke used to call here to sharpen any shears or push mower blades he was a gypsy... love to know what happened to him
