I don't understand why they cover up a tat about 3" across with something 10 times the size.

Because a total cover up is hard to do especially over big dark tattoos. Its more disguised than covered up. You need enough size and clarity in the new work to draw your eye away from the old.

Oh and had my bell end pierced at one point lol .......

Im curious to know why an otherwise intelligent man would do such a thing..............but im too scared to ask :D

For me it was all about pushing boundaries ... Very few people had it done so I had to .. Not only that but I had a reverse one done where the piercing needle goes down the japs eye and up through the top of your bell end lol ... As a kid I had to climb the tallest tree ... Swim across the fastest part of a river ... If I drove a rout that had a series of sharp bends I would have to drive it faster every time I when through it ... So sticking a fukcing big bull ring through my bell end was a natural progression I suppose ... I don't have quite the same mindset these days and I have slowed down on pushing the boundaries ... I think you realise your own mortality as you get older ...........

I suppose if you don't get it, you won't.....

I have always liked them and have a few and would like a few more...

When I met my wife, she had a tramp stamp on her lower back that I finally could not look at anymore, we went to a convention and I left her with a an artist whose work she liked.....

This is what I came back to, and I could not be happier

I got my first proper tattoo at 14 ...

I was 17...have to say what you think look ace at 17...dont look so good at 46...i've had loads of cover up and reworking done over the years...im covered...not so much stigma these days thanks to what i call 'the david beckham effect'...but to quote Mr M Tyson esq on tattoo..."if you dont like em...dont f***ing look at em!"
