Garmon Astro 320 + Dc Collar

Recommended Posts

Ordered the Alpha 100 and tt15 collar on sunday, they turned up on tuesday.

Charged it up and it works straight out the box! Already paired together and maps etc working fine.

Shocked me self twice trying to work out how to use it mind you!

Turns out the three big buttons on the top are for tone, vibration and then zapping the pooch.

Hopefully never have to use them but was worried about sheep as have been told the hill/forest sheep can turn a normally stock broken dog and as tess has only met the normal fat, white variety I don't want her pulling the other types when out.

Thought I'd give an update on this.

Ordered from handtech and it arrived within 2 days. Turned it on and it's at firmware version 3.7 but it's working fine?

Don't know if it's because I bought it from UK not America but Maps show roads, arable land and woods. Tracks the dog and me on the maps fine.

Work perfectly!! Result!

What did it cost you in total mate?

Think it was about £480 with next day delivery

If you can get round the import tax then it's cheaper to buy from America but if they catch it coming through then you get hit with a big duty bill

Worth every penny though for peace of mind.

I've since swapped the bright green collar out for a black one. Slightly more subtle when out and about daytime!

I'm going for the Astro 320 with two t5 mini collars. I will put them on two of the leading beagles so the smaller collars will be less bulky on them, exact same price as the normal size t5 collar. £610 is the best price I can get and that's from the states and I'm sure I will get caught for some import tax on it. The seller said he will set it up to work in Ireland and guarantee it will work straight out of the box. He will also mark it at a low value to avoid big tax at this side. Does that sound reasonable?

If the seller just puts it down as something like £100 dog accessories then hopefully you shouldn't have too pay much duty unless they check the package?

Just looked on Handtec and it's £420 for the Astro and 1 T5 collar but they haven't got any in at the moment, says due in soon....

Might be worth an email to them and find out if they could get the mini T5's and how quick they could get them in? it should be cheaper that way (especially if you get hit for import tax)

Cheers for the reply mate, I've already mailed them and got a reply stating that they were out of stock and couldn't say when they would have them again!!

I think it's lookin like the states is my best bet so!!
