leo1 134
wont go wrong with roundup 440, Japanese knotweed is better controlled with stem injection but will take a couple of years of treatment
socks 32,253
wont go wrong with roundup 440, Japanese knotweed is better controlled with stem injection but will take a couple of years of treatment That's the old way of doing it ... The best way is to wait until the temperature is above 21 degrees then spray the leaves ... Give it three treatments on the first day leave it 5 days then repeat ... Five days later no more knotweed ... However knotweed treatment can NEVER be guaranteed ........

neil cooney 10,416
Everyone who spends time in the countryside should learn to recognise it. Could you imagine being stuck for some toilet paper ? Mind you, an old Irish local name for the common one is "scabby hands."

A few houses down the road from my parents in Shepperton, a daft couple had knotweed growing and thought it was a normal garden plant for years. Then again they were also feeding rats. pesky1972 5,315
My old man warned me about this stuff when I was a nipper. Told me about a couple of lads he knew when he was a kid that had apparently used the stalks as pea-shooters and got their mouths burned.
