SportingShooter 0
Have used one before now, Personally, I like the calibre. Good heavy heads available for it. If I were to have another stalking rifle, it would be a "Swede" Quote Link to post
sussex 5,777
Yep , tika t3 lite , very accurate round does a good job with very little meat damage . This will be my third season using the 6.5 and can't really fault it .. 1 Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
I've got a Sauer 202 in 6.5x55 and can't fault it for accuracy, stopping power and minimal meat damage. Negligible recoil, especially with a moderator so you can stay sited after the shot and if you home load you'll be in clover with it, factory ammo can be a bitch to find depending on how good (or useless) your local shop is but aside from that id have nothing else. Roe, muntjack, mountain goats, boar, sika, fallow and a Red at over 400m have all had a taste and not seeded seconds. 1 Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Yes mate got a Tikka T3 in 6.5x55 and I love the round, very accurate and low recoil for such a calibre. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Very accurate round without doubt, but it is just too close in performance to a .243, to make it a viable alternative, yes it can fire a heavier round, but at the trade off of trajectory like a rainbow, if I switched from the .243, it would be the venerable .25-06 for me. trenchfoot 4,243
Love mine. I hve found it can chuck a wider range of bullet weight through the same twist than the .243. but got to agree with Charlie about the .25-06 if you can deal with the recoil Quote Link to post
