lurcherlass. 1
Hi Just woundering if anyone has had a toe removed off their dog before and did it effect them? My dog broke his toe over a year ago which has healed and had no effect untill now..the nail is dead and split causing his toe pad to swell. Vet reccomended removing full toe but dont want to effect his movement. Anyone had this problem? Thanks
dytkos 17,818
I have mate, hopefully its a front middle one? If so, it should not make too much difference, if an outside rear one, that's not ideal. (Talking about lurchers?) Cheers, D.

lurcherlass. 1
Thanks appriciate advice. Yes hes a bullx lurcher and its a back middle one. The nail has cracked and made the pad swell up but its hardening, i have tried clipping the nail back but its a bit too far gone for that now i think. Thanks
dytkos 17,818
Just give it plenty of time after the op and see how he goes. Bull crosses can't turn well any way so you won't notice the difference Cheers, D.

Giro 2,648
Had front middle taken off my bitch... Outside toes never held up.. Possibly the bitch had bad feet - finished her running career before it took off. Edited July 11, 2015 by Giro
