moxy 617
I've got an old mill pond to stock with fish. Decent size pond and Clean. The owner has no intention of fishing but wants to bring a bit of life back to it now we have sorted the mink problem out which wiped out his last stock of fish and ducks! What verities would you stock it with? Size or standard of fish? And where from in west / North Yorkshire. Cheers.
treecreeper 1,136
honestly if your putting any decent fish or money into it first job would be an otter fence, other than that depends what you want to do with it and how big it is.

tomburras 2,729
Oh wow what a top opertunity I'd go with tench, roach and bream route. Plenty of carp ponds about and when you are targeting tench carp are allways taking the bait. A top tench water without carp is rare!
tomburras 2,729
Maybe crucians too
moxy 617
It won't be fished. It's more for diversity. Owner thinks wanging a few goldfish in will do the job. Are these fish all available for sale and where from locally. The feckers got money but don't want to part with it. Size will be an easy 50m plus by 25m. 3m at its deepest. Tiercel 6,986
My view encourage the birds back and they will bring the fish naturally. Then the ones that thrive are suitable for the water. TC
