It won't be your line if your breeding so close, all your doing is carryiing on one that's allready there  ,

i whuldent start off with a straight brother sister not leaving you many avenues to go down.... you chuld do brother sister then use a son from the mating to cover outside bitches then that whuld be the a start of your own line and keep going back to the dog with his daughters

Contrary to belief ,the start of a line need not require dogs related .The only requirement is that breeding continues within the chosen mating to something similar .Brother sister is not a problem within an established line but brings nothing to the table for a starting point .Breed your bother ,sister then source a related dog over the bitches .Just advice mate nothing else .

Nothing wrong with that as long has they are good working stock and both in good health..Its not the closeness of the stock but the vigour and health of it that matters. Same with the subsequent pups, any that are not in best of health need killing. I dont agree with fireman,it will be your line in the future because it will have been tested and bred from your kennel.

Point of contention mate .Many a line improved by a different pilot .That line is theirs despite the modesty of many dog lads.Just one alteration to the formula can improve on a good line line to become a great line ,seen it done .Kennel blindness is an affliction affecting most breeders at some time or another but a realist allows the opinion of others to guide .Thats why the gifted puppy is so valuable and the subsequent honest opinion of the lad working said gift ,strong points and weeknesses. The kennel blind stockman cannot see beyond his yard or will not take in the word of others leaving him to go alone having no one left to gift puppies to .

The bitch i hope to breed is of well proven parents my mate has the brother both are workin and in the best of health i hav bought in 2 younger bitchs suposedly closely bred and with time and luck they will go and prove themselvs.

The only other option open for now is a brother sister mateing.

The brother and sister are both carrying the same genes, would it not make sense to put the brother over outside bitches from the start so to speak and miss out the brother/sister mating ,keep a dog pup back ,let it prove itself ,then put it over the studs sister?Personally if the brother/sister are that good I would be looking for something from similar breeding rather than introducing completely unrelated blood....

This the only option open to me at this time and propably makes more sense i have control over what i keep in the yard and whats gifted to mates. A service i recently gave out of the dog back to its dam not one single pup came back. And to go and for other related to the sed bitch would a hefty stud fee or 2 pups back so it makes sense to stay

Within the yard.

if he had options he chuld i said it on the understanding all he had was a brother and a sister ,,,,, but whuldent a dog from a brother sister mating have a better chance of passing its self into to unrelated bitches than a dog with 2 unrelated parents bringing more genes into the mix ? that was my theory behind it anyway come on fd put us straight lol
