Re Loading Sub Sonic Center Fire

Any body tryed this saw a few videos on YouTube about loading 223

Am working on 222 sub sonic loads

I tried for .22 Hornet, using Red Dot powder I got the speed down to about 1,300 fps but couldn't quite achieve sub sonic. I never got the chance to try Trailboss powder which is supposed to be better, being bulkier. There is quite a lot of info on the "Cast bullits" web site.

Have got it sub but bullet is key holing paper

Is this a velocity issues or a bullet whaight issue

 

Am using 2.8 grains of allaiant bullseye powder

With a 52 grain a max

Even though it keyholes paper am still grouping about 1inc at 70 yards super quite

the lack of speed is causeing stability issues...i had some factory sub ammo in 308 once. i got it from the guy in perth he has a few old boxes of it

It could be the jacketed bullets causing the problem. You might want to try cast lead bullets.
