darbo 4,778
Hughie Fury “not going to rush” into Deontay Wilder fight Hughie Fury’s trainer tells John Dennen about a potential shot at Wilder AN unlikely shot at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has been dangled before 16-0 prospect Hughie Fury. His father and trainer Peter Fury told Boxing News, “It’s come from one of our people in America that it’s come to us if we’d be interested in it.” Fury’s response however was that he needs more than four weeks to prepare. “With the time to prepare, he’d take it,” Peter continued. “I got in the message [that it would be in] about four weeks. I said that’s not long enough.” More realistically Hughie would need seven to eight weeks. “If we got that much time we’d be interested. Mainly to sort out sparring partners and stuff like that. He needs a proper camp for the opportunity. We’re not going to rush into anything. If we had the right preparations of course we would take it. “He’d only be taking this fight because the opportunity’s come for a world title fight. He’s got a chance like anybody else but ideally he’s probably a few years away.” It seems as though the Fury name is now known in the boxing world. Hughie’s cousin Tyson Fury challenge world champion Wladimir Klitschko on October 24 in Dusseldorf. Hughie is expected to box on the undercard. “He’s back boxing regular, he’s fighting tough men as well,” Peter continued. “[His last opponent, George] Arias was very difficult because he was on him with a very good defence, so it was hard to penetrate. We knew that he was durable, we knew that he would get 10 rounds out of him. It went very well. “We will look to step him up again [on October 24]. We’re just looking at names but it definitely has to be a top ranked opponent, definitely somebody in the top 10 in the world.”

gnasher16 30,691
....You and Cushty are the ones that spout a constant barrage of insults and name calling .... This arrangement to convey my insults and ridicule personally is that with you or with Furys ? Oi you get in line Mik i was first......the huntinglifes version of Don King already fixed me up with first crack im just waiting to see if Fury wins before i get my plimsolls and vest out and start getting in shape as theres no point if he dont win......i always knew my chance would come again and you know what world heavyweight champions are like for taking on random strangers off the internet Ali/Liston/Foreman/Tyson they,ve all done it you know. Or shall we be a tag team ?........im probably stronger than you so you sit on my shoulders and keep him off with the jab then after 6 rounds we,ll swap over and i,ll finish him off with the bolo punch. gnasher16 30,691
Treading on egg shells as we all must and with every respect to Hughie Fury......how can Wilder possibly get away with offering a 15 fight novice who has never even won an area title a shot at the world heavyweight championship ......like Wilder hasnt already been handfed a world title he,s now going to be allowed to fight whoever he likes !

MIK 4,763
I have admitted I dont rate them and I dont like the way Tyson goes about his business to the point I wont let my 8 year old son who wants to be a boxer watch him on tv ....but I would not say im a hater and I have not called any one names I will leave that up to them ....neither of them rate AJ which I do I think hes a very hungry ,well mannered humble young man who imo has a real nasty streek that we will see when he pushed more ...but you dont see me throwing my toys out of the pram when they slate him ...thats their opinion ....and I have an opinion on Tyson Fury and if none of us were allowed to voice our opinions this site would be pointless...is that not the whole point of an internet forum ?having an opinion and slating someone any chance you get are two different things MIK, I just think a bit more respect towards brookie would be the right way to go about it that's all atb AT a bit more respect ....you show me where I have disraspected Brookie AT ...I dont give a flying fuk about him hes just a name on an internet site that has differant views about a boxer than me ...and im sure he can stick up for himself Edited August 3, 2015 by MIK
MickC 1,825
Gnasher unfortunately that is how it has become. The Heavyweight belt was a prestigious thing which could only be won by fighting the other top contenders and earning a shot at the Title. Things have changed for the worse though in Wilders case as he never fought one top 50 contender and was gifted a shot at Stiverne for the WBC belt because he has a big promoter behind him and America is desperate for a World champion due to Klitchkos dominance this last decade. Wilder is a very flawed fighter and looking at his record he has been matched very carefully to say the least which gives the impression that his promoters know something we think we do if you catch my drift and don't want him exposed just yet. Povetkin is his mandatory so is he willing to accept standby money while Wilder milks the title against part time fighters like Eric Molina ? ( who very nearly kod Wilder in the 3rd) To be fair Hughie would beat everybody that Wilder has fought so far with Siverne maybe the exception at this moment and for this reason I think the Fury camp would accept an offer to face Wilder if they did get it.
