4Th Jill To Miss

After 3 Jill's missed to 3 different hobs we lined a polecat Jill to a different hob only for her to miss too, she showed all the signs, last Thursday night she had a bloody discharge at feeding time so I though the next morning would see a nest full but not a single kit. Our last hope is a Jill due in about 10 days,

If she had a bloody discharge shes probably had them and ate them mate. We needed some youngsters this year,four jills required between us,the jill we mated had 7,6 hobs and 1 jill Fingers crossed for your other jill ATB Dave

I'm thinking along the same lines if she's had a discharge she could of had them and ate them , mate

Quite possible 2 years ago she had. Young and was very protective with them,

She almost certainly will come back into season but there going to be late kits if she rears the next litter

I'm just waiting on a Jill now, 10 days left, I've used a hob from outside our line now so fingers crossed if not il have to make do next season with a few ageing members of our team

I agree with Northern Lad and The One I think she ate them, try screwing the nest box lid down so she is not disturbed we used to do that years ago.

 

I doubt that she will come back into season as days are getting shorter, I think i'm right that is the length of day light hours has some control over them coming into season.

 

But you never know fingers crossed and good luck.
