buster gonads 862
I dont want to sound harsh & i dont know how to put this, but why did you get a pup from a litter with deformaties, i wouldnt have picked it, i wouldnt keep it, and for god,s sake dont ever breed from it. You,ll look back when your older and wonder why you wasted time on some of the dogs you,v had, i can think of a couple i should have passed on & i would think most of us can too, we arnt here long enough to take too many chances but what ever you decied to do, good luck. 2 Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
Agree with Dawn. Only an x-ray will show any bone abnormalities. If there were two pups with missing legs I'd definitely be getting that done rather than wondering and wondering what might be wrong. If nothing else it will put your mind at rest and at worst will confirm that there is a problem. Difficult to tell from a photo just how strange his hind legs are though they do look weak, which is often the case with large heavy breed pups at this age. From the side view photo it looks as though he has put on a massive growth spurt at the back end, which again, is normal. Pups go up at the front end, then at the back end, and often do this several times before they level out, but he should still be able to trot about more or less normally, if a bit unevenly. Well said,ur in deep water now,but u have him now its ur problem,do right for the dog, I would see what the vet says,if it will ever come right, and never get a dog off that lad again. morton 5,368
My 19week old bull greyhound pups back legs are cow hocked.. He doesn't walk like a normal pup his back legs just hop about. when he runs he's normal.. What's peoples opinions on this is he worth keeping as a working dog? Any advice much appreciated thanks.. They haven't got any better from he started walking! An awful lot of running dogs own a Bovine gait,it seldom interferes with their hunting lifestyle, feed it right, enter and exercise it right and its possible the pup will turn from an ugly duckling into a Swan, looking at that jukel id hope to get to the goose stage . Its easy for someone til say give it a chance an it might come alright but its me that has to put the effort time an money into it for it not to turn out right.. Not bein cheeky here but that's the fact about it!! 1 Quote Link to post

Its a fecking pup, they are all gangly awkward gaited little baskets of youthful exhuberence. There are many, many, many hocked mutts about that are more than worth their board and lodgings. The facts are that some fecking nugget as swayed you into believing that a running dog needs to look and trot like Seb Coe before it can earn its medals, get rid mucker and get a jigsaw,no more than a 4 piece though, anything else may be to taxing for you. Give the pup a chance grasshopper, forget what the nuggets have led you to believe,if its bred right it will graft right, another few months on the saplings back will warrant reward, give it a chance, who the feck gives up on a pup before its reached its potential?.
