toxo 160
Getting to know the ranges at night with the Archer on the back of my Anchutz 1417 with 3-12x50 Sidewinder. Had to drag the rabbit bag to the van Quote Link to post

Rimfireboy! 1,463
Good shooting, the 1417 is a good little rifle isn't it? Quote Link to post
toxo 160
Good shooting how are you finding the Anchutz as I'm looking to get one. Thanks Rob and Rimfireboy. Had loads more since. The Annie and the Archer make it so easy. Had a few more last night. They don't come so close now so more longer range shots and I was particularly happy with three around the ninety yard mark. The 1417 is a great little rifle. It's weighed down a bit with the 3-12x50 Sidewinder 30 which is a heavy scope especially with the big wheel on it. If I had to nit pick, the magazine release could be better as could the safety button and there's a clunk when you put the bolt down but at rimfire ranges the bunnies don't hear it. Some do have an ejection issue where the case doesn't always clear the breech but the fix is really easy. Mine was like this and it took five minutes from start to finish to fix it and now it zips out perfectly even when working the bolt really slowly. No-one would regret buying a 1417. 1 Quote Link to post
