comanche 3,038
Just back from a day boat-fishing off Littlehampton. It was a typical case of "Should've been out yesterday," as the wind had changed to a light easterly and had blown all the tope and bass that had been around off the feed. Still, all was not lost;apart from quite a lot of tackle. Fishing the rocks gave us a few hefty bites but must've added to the share dividends of several hook-making companies and pushed the price of lead up a bit. Leaving the estuary. Sid (champion lead-loser)hauling in a doggie. The best looking angler on the boat:) with an undulate ray that didn't dive into the rocks. I wasn't the only lucky one! Apart from the rays and a few baby conger it was all small stuff-though we did manage eight different species. The skipper is not one of those "cabin-boy" types who drops anchor and spends the day reading the paper. He really works to find his crew fish but today he couldn't work the magic.Still, we did no better or worse than any of the other boats out. Arty seagull shot Heading back after a day in the sun. This guy was catching up his sleep before heading straight to his tench lake! The posh side of the river. The not so posh bit. OOh ,horrid rough fishermen and lobster potters:) And just to taunt us the boat was surrounded by these chaps as we moored-up. Not brilliant but enough fish to keep us interested, sunshine and the usual micky taking and rather surreal humour made it better than work . 1 Quote Link to post
