Where abouts are you? I'm sure someone with a night vision air rifle set up would happily go down there after dark out of sight to help you out

It's like their taunting me when I'm down there. Training Wednesday 1 got so close to us training one of the boys very nearly caught it with his hands

Few claymores could make a difference to our results on a Saturday afternoon.

Sounds like a place for a PCP with night vision , couple of nights with this type of set up would knock a hole in them

Practice with your air rifle until you can group shots under a 2p piece every time. Get BASC insurance to cover your âss. Get written permission from the landowner. Inform the rozzers that you have permission and that you'll be there at dusk on specific days. Choose a shooting position where you're sure that you have a safe backstop -- if necessary, get hold of some straw bales and line 'em up behind where you'll be shooting the rabbits. Then go shoot the little feckers from 25 yards, an HW35 will do the job.

 

If you have written permission, are not endangering anyone or any property, and are insured, you can politely tell anyone who objects to go and stand in the Far Queue. Then sell 'em a rabbit for the pot.

Right have you permission to shoot and is it a verbal permission or written permission

 

if verbal then get it in writing and get it signed

 

Then before you go ring the police and let them no what time your going to be there and what time you will be finnished

 

they will give you a log number write this down on a bit of paper and leave it along with your perm sheet in the car window so it can be seen if plod dose turn up

 

This way you are cover,d and if some one dose ring the police saying some one is running around the fields with a gun

 

they will no its you they will give you a call to make sure its you

 

then set your self up facing away from the houses zero your rifle at about 30 yards and set up at the same distance and pop them off as they come out

 

but as the lads have say,d a pcp is the rifle for this job and even better with nv fitted

 

A pcp with the right mod is silent and no one in the houses will hear it end of

Night vision on a quality pcp with a quality marksman, or "snares", or both.

A good week of this type of attention would put a real hole in the rabbit population.

Using snares in a built up area isn't a good idea.

Just imagine adding more fuel to the fire because you've snared someone's moggy.

1) Get some insurance, CCC or SACS and that is the public liability insurance taken care of!

2) Get a PCP, someone said about an HW100 or an AA S510. if you want it just for bowling the bunnies over then an AT44 would do just as good and can be yours for a lot less dosh.

3) Buy a suppressor (moderator, silencer). The HW 100 comes with a suppressor, other rifles probably do not. A good one is the HW suppressor, but Twinks, Phoenix, Swift all make good suppressors.

4) Show insurance and the low noise shooting outfit to the bods who own the football field. Get permission in writing so no problems with the police.

5) Get there early, get in position with gun zeroed in, ammo, lunch etc and go for the Watership Down massacre!
