J Darcy 5,871
Like I've said before, forget the protein level on the back of the sack, what is important is the digestable protein. IMO pups should be fat, give the pup as much as it will eat, and I don't think eggs do them too much good either. Plenty of raw meat with fat trimmings. I also feed raw gutted carcases or rabbits and ungutted squirrels, they love them! 1 Quote Link to post

Went to the butchers last night for his usual order, the woman gave me about 2 kilos of fatty trimmings, a huge end of a sirloin slab and a bag full of meaty bones free. I paid for 4 kilos of pig face, 4 kilos of bull heart and 2 kilos of feet (cow and pig). this will all be eaten within a week and cost me 15euros so not much more than a tenner. When it's that cheap it's a no brainer and not hard to keep ya pup fat Edited July 2, 2015 by mushroom 3 Quote Link to post
Donna Wildwood 288
I never worry about percentages, especially with good quality raw food. If the dog looks thin, feed it more, if it looks fat, feed it less Season does affect mine, so I change times around. Normally Pi eats at the end of the day incase he's needed on the farm to work. In the heat though he has most of his food in the early morning and a snack at night. Then he finds a shady spot and naps through the heat of the day, and is ready to go again in the evening. If I feed him late in the heat, he doesn't settle and then gets skinny or puke it up :/ Quote Link to post
