Bryan 1,362
Nothing worse than seeing guys out enjoying their sport. Makes me sick. You'd think they'd ride in single file so you could pass them faster and closer? Like horses out hunting, or guys walking dogs on country roads, if they just clung in by the ditch so I could tear past them without dropping a rev, it'd be a better world. When I have to lift my foot off the floor and drop a gear for some child walking on the road or people cycling or hounds crossing a road? Well a little bit of me dies. Another man's sport? F*ck 'em all (all except my sport) It's a lack of tolerance for another man's sport, that lead to a ban on hunting in the UK. Out hunting in Ireland nothing seems to annoy people more than having to slow down for a minute or so for hounds or horses. They could care less about hunting, but holy shit delay them on a back country road in winter on a saturday or sunday and they will go mental!!!
bracken boy 584
Good drivers dont get stressed by a few cyclists, drive properly and do.whats right, drive safe and overtake in a safe manner where its safe.
Slippery_Weasel 460
It's when they won't move over and are riding 2 or 3 alongside each other. The arrogance of making someone else wait because they want to ride alongside another Lycra clad fuckwit. Laws should be passed to allow the legal running over of the cyclist closest to the middle of the road.
Bryan 1,362
Carry a broom handle in car as you go by window down & poke the cnts or better still wedge broom stick behind their saddle & accelerate look on their face at 40/45mph is priceless they also tend to scream a bit ? That's the job for them. Like this kid out cycling on someone else's race track. http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/cyclist-13-dragged-along-road-by-men-in-car-273171.html

The odd cyclists is ok but 5 miles of 300 cyclists every weekend on narrow roads is a pain the only bonus is if you get stuck behind a fit lass but that's a rarity as most are overweight middle aged men who should know better than to wear lycra..they also bring the busy A roads to a near stand still as there's no chance of overtaking with constant on coming traffic...drivers pay for the roads therefore drivers should have priority. Good drivers dont get stressed by good, considerate bike riders. You havent just got to watch the cyclist, you have to see past him and check the floor for sticks, stones and drains cos heaven forbid theres a feather in the road cos you can bet the cnut is gonna swerve round it with no warning or signal.

Dont put a lot of money on that^ Bizarre how grown men are upset with what sports clothing other males wear, something very clement freud about it. It would be terrible of cyclists to ride two abreast if it was illegal. I've had a motorist up me arse bibbing to pass on a country lane whilst i was clocking 44mph..he needed to trump me. Had a skip wagon do something similar (30mph down a single track), fortunately for the good of the community we managed to bring him to a stop, until he shown us his bouncing skip and chains trick by dint of his brake and clutch...i think the implication was move or your getting a skip on the head....fortnight later me pal visited him at home and shown him a beltin little trick of his own whilst his bird screamed the avenue out of bed to make them aware of what mr skip killer bollox does during the day. Sort them bar ends out Terry for christ sake
neems 2,406
I like the idea of more people cycling,it could be good for everyone if the roads were made for it. unfortunately the vast majority of cyclists are arseholes,if i need to go very slowly in my car i give every car every possible opportunity to overtake, even pull over if theyve been stuck behind me for a while, but it seems like a lot of cyclists want block the entire road. why not pull in for cars to overtake? why not ride single file for a few seconds when cars are waiting to pass? why ride right in the middle of the road?
kanny 20,667
I cycle quit a lot but mostly trails and footpaths and toe paths and im always courteous to the other users. Your right it's not illegal to ride two abreast but it would be considered"courteous" to go single file if a car wants to pass and there lies the problem road bike users don't that's why drivers get the arsed with you ...you expect drivers to be courteous to you but you don't pay it back.
oneredtrim 148
...you expect drivers to be courteous to you but you don't pay it back. How do you know what i do..2mins ago you was positive car drivers solely pay for the roads.Car drivers have an excuse ready when they clout another car up the arse, what's the age olde adage again about driving on a road.....perhaps thats what some cyclists are doing when useing more than the normal apron of a road. That's not discounting twatty cyclists but twatty cyclists dont kill folk every day of the yr on the roads they have part funded. kanny 20,667
By you I ment road bike users in general however you did say "It would be terrible of cyclists to ride two abreast if it was illegal." so i can be forgiven for thinking that was your mentally also can I not? as a driver and a cyclists of coarse I take care round cyclists on the road but that doesn't mean they don't get on my tits when there acting arrogant twats and because I live in some cycling mecca it happens quiet a lot!..Each to there own and all that but I struggle to get my head around the road bike thing just miles of tarmac and hedgerows it's not for me I would much rather be out the way stop at the canal watch the carp on top damselflys and dragonfly's darting about pull up at a field watch the rabbits or fox cubs or whatever. And still put 20 miles in. Roads are built for commuting and transport not for sport.

You can be forgiven for a lot of things Kanny..including anything that goes wooosh over your head (it would be terrible...) Does commuting not include cycling in this fat land? How do you feel about the off road mob spooking mountain hare and birds of prey? I know what you mean about the 20 mile stunt, i've a 12yr old terrier here that does it with me 3 times a week...muntjac butting each other fortnight ago just outside marsden, mink having right off on the rochdale canal, same again behind old trafford..even coypu in tameside if you ride a silent clutch/hub Edited June 27, 2015 by oneredtrim
kanny 20,667
Yes commuting is fine I'm sure you don't commute to work with 20 other people two abreast . Road biking is a sport its not commuting. And i stated roads aren't built for sport it's not there purpose. As for your dig at my 20 miles I never claimed to be Chris hoy it's just a pleasure thing for me with a bit of fitness benefit thrown in..bottom line is i can fully understand why drivers get pissed at a lot of road bike users Im not the only one saying it am I?
