It doesn't matter what your culture or what your beliefs ... Cruelty and inflicting suffering is the same and as a human being no matter what you believe in you cannot accept or condone cruelty .. Once you do you are starting to lose your humanity ... I have absolutely no problem in any culture or nation eating what they want ... however as a rational right thinking human being I have got a problem with the cruelty inflicted on the animals they want to eat ... You have only got to look up bile bears to see the mentality these people have ... I have seen more than enough cruelty ... Real cruelty to last me a lifetime so anything that has to die ... For me has to die as quickly and as painlessly as possible ......

same here only I was never paid or got a pension for it

And ???

Theres no actual concept of animal cruelty in china, leastways there wasnt when i first went there 25 years ago

Thats the important thing for me.........a Chink sitting slagging us off for keeping dogs as pets could well be saying the same thing.....are we right just because we are.

you Could use the same argument for anything ...who's right us or Islamic fundamentalist? They believe there right don't they....somewhere common sense has to come into play and common sense tells me there wrong there's no sense in what they do

Fair point......though Islamic fundamentalists who want to hurt or destroy other human beings cant be compared to human beings who want to hurt and destroy animals in my opinion.

A mate told me a recipe for eating a Canada goose

He said get one and don't hang it

Pluck it immediately and empty the carcase

Rub butter all over it and fill the cavity with a new building brick

rap in foil and burry it and light a fire over the top

Leave for 24 hrs

Dig it up

And eat the brick ?

Me I couldn't eat a dog as already been said its a carnivore I'd eat almost any vegetarian animal and be game to do so , but just couldn't bring myself to eat a dog . I enjoy my dogs but in a completely different way to the Chinese lol . The Chinese seem to me if things went the way of the pear they'd be first to start eating humans lol

got no prob them eating a dog , meat /meat , but the bottom line is mate it down right cruelty to burn them alive or club them, anybody who think different wants to go and see a shrink, because it makes you as sick as them little yellow c**ts if you don't think it is :yes: . I am hard on my dogs always have been, , if you don't want a dog shoot it if it was for work etc , but human decency you get rid of it humane , not torture the poor fecker and that what this post is about, forget the eating bollocks that goes with it . FACT

There are some curious views on morality here. We seem to be under the impression there is such a thing as absolute right and wrong. I think it's worth taking a step back.

The bottom line with morality is, there's my opinion and there's everyone else's individual opinion. Right and wrong are completely arbitrary and subjective, not fact or absolute.

'Unnecessary cruelty' should be completely avoided, it's 'common sense'....... right? So nobody here has had a hunt for no other reason than they wanted to? Nobody been out for a dig or fishing or a run for no other reason than they wanted to? I suppose a fox that has being worked by a terrier doesn't feel much agro, it's having the time of it's life I bet. Same goes for the catch and release fish eh?

Perspective...

We as individuals justify our own cruelty as necessary by whatever means our conscience allows. We're not unique in that or righteous in our moral stance.

Read Bornhunters post above mate..................as human beings us British dont have the final say on what is right and wrong.....we think the way the Chinese burn them alive or club them is sick......they most probably think the way we keep them as pets is sick.................so its not FACT its opinion.

Personally i agree i dont like what they do but at the end of the day its only animals and not everyone places the same value on animal life that we do.

if the Chinese done terrier work they'd sow the fox in the terrier and make a sandwich out of em . Of course only after beating the two of them to make it a more tastier ?. Edited by marshman

The Chinese are a strange folk where eating is concerned , they'll a fish while it's still alive drink bial from a bear stomach in reality nothing no matter how cruel or in danger the animal is off menu . And yet I read somewhere they don't drink milk as it's considered like spit ?

They can't drink milk there genetically intolerant to lactose.... I know farming in this country still has a dark side one of the reasons I do my best to source all my food free range and organic alot of meat eggs and dairy that I eat comes from small holdings I'm fortunate that my Mrs has a job that takes her round these places.... Makes me laugh when silly women on Facebook are sharing anti propaganda whilst bragging how they got 2 chickens for a fiver... Hypocrites!
