shepp 2,285
It looks like I am going to need a nail gun for my new business venture. Do any other companies have a decent but cheaper than Paslode, trade quality nail gun? Thanks

kanny 20,639
Senco best nail guns for the money.. Cheep guns are a false economy imo. You could be more specific air powered or electronic ect type of nails

Lab 10,979
Wouldn't mind everyone's opinion on the dewalt nail gun. Seemingly better than paslode, battery lasts for ages and you don't have to buy gas? I've 2 paslode guns but I'd happily change to dewalt cause I could interchange my drill batteries with it.

I have a Dewalt first fix nail gun. Drives 90mm galvanised ringshanks all the way into good treated timber all day long. No Pasload, hitachi, air nailer, gas gun will do that. Great bit of kit. Maintenance free also. Just needs a bit of silicone spray to make the nails slide easily in the carrier. Cheers

You could be more specific air powered or electronic ect type of nails The job I'll be using it for is to put up summer houses and log cabins. Also I will sometimes have to put together a 4" x 2" frame as a base. The guy I helped had a Paslode for the base a a compressor run Bostich for the small nails. Although I'm a fencer and my paslode does bang in 90s all the way no probs. The 'first fix' you mention...I'm guessing this is what I would call a 'roughing gun'...cheers
FairLead 19
Hitachi are cheaper than the Paslode, but I'd be suspect of their performance and durability, Pazzies tough as old boots but tend to be a nightmare in cold weather, think it affects the gas...personally I'd go for a Dewalt first fix,as posted previously, hefty price tag though!!...air nailer good but the compressor would do my swede in!!

Tip for winter use keep your gas cylinder in your pocket for 20 mins before starting work.
baz 464
I never find it a problem with hoses from compressor, I do all joinery from decking to roofing, suppose you just get used to them, I found paslodes a pain for jamming , mis firing and gas messing around... Iv had 3 now, defo wouldn't buy another..
