luckyplum 50
i walked the dog around a very patchy field of rape most evenings after work last week, the crop seems to be stunted only being knee high and with some big bare patches. as the week went on more and more pigeons seem to be feeding on the rape. friday of last week i finished work early and was set up in a natural hide with a small pattern of decoys, a bouncer, and a flapper set in one of the patches by about three o,clock.it took me a while to get my eye in but over the next two hours i managed to kill twenty pigeons before things slowed down and it took another hour and a half to kill about a dozen more. it seemed as many birds were drawn to the tree i was stood under as they were to my decoys. i really enjoyed the sport and drove home hungry but happy, cheers plum ! billyhunter 0
Good work in the rape field, do decoys really work then? I've only shot pigeons once and I just used a packet of seeds, lol Twenty within an hour is like one every 3 minutes! Quote Link to post
