Newcastle Brown Ale

Recommended Posts

Newkie is my favourite mass produced tipple....

Getting a decent ale/beer here is as likely as getting offered to lay with mary baby jesus's mam

Although I found one bar which sells decent ales at a feckin extortionate yet worth it price..

Served with a half pint glass if i remember rightly.

It was around the early 90's over for the Waterloo Cup that a Newcastle man introduced me to Newky. At the end of the night he was stubbing his cigarette out on the bar beside the ashtray. He was tha

I really like t. Might be hard to imagine now, but when I was younger Newky had the same "cool" thing going for it as Jack Daniels. Like Marlboro fags you were "hip" if you drank it :D

maybe if you lived outside of the north east. it wasn't a fashion statement up here. just a normal drink really.

its also brewed in the united states now and is one of the most popular bottled beers over there. i've tried it in vegas a few times and it tastes exactly the same as it does in the uk.

mass produced crap really.

there much better bottled beers on the market now that has some taste to it.

Get some Deuchars IPA into you, thats nice in bottles and draught. Had a few bonkers ales in my time, Theakstons Old Pecuiler did bad things to me.....and I had a pint of some local hootch in the Gin Trap in Guildford area....only identifier was 6 x's burned into the barrel, it was gravity fed stuff, the barrel was on top of the bar.....had to drink it with a spoon....blew my heed aff!

Saying that, always liked a bottle of dog!

Caffereys on Draught used to be a nice easy pint.

Too easy lol 5% as compared to the local old boys 3.5% had a promotion once in my local, free glasses or grandard shirts if you drunk 2 or 5 respectively.

One fella shit himself before he could get off his stool lol

Cheers, D.
