paulsmithy83 567
i wouldnt put a pure over her either. You will have a completly different dog to what you got now yes it could have endless more stamina but thats a whole lot of saluki in the make up then. I like pure salukis but think for what your trying to achieve a coursing bred animal would be better suited. 1 Quote Link to post

Con6212 155
Morton, where did you get I think she's the best thing since sliced bread from lol? I even said she's no world beater. If that's the opinion you got from me saying she's killed thousands of rabbits then most lurchers must be the next best thing since sliced bread lol Quote Link to post

Con6212 155
Few years ago I was unemployed for a whole season and was out with this bitch 3-4 nights a week picking up maybe. 15-20 bunnies each time. You do that for 5-6 seasons off course a dog will kill over a thousand rabbits by time it's retired or bred from. Edited June 21, 2015 by Con6212 1 Quote Link to post
Con6212 155
Morton, say you can average 10 bunnies a night and went out 3 times a week. That's 30 bunnies a week, 120 bunnies a month, so say about 960 a season going on September to April. 3-4 seasons down the line that's thousands of bunnies pal. 1 Quote Link to post

One of my old diary,s gave an account of about 2,700 rabbits killed in a season with 1 dog,1 season,my mates dog accounted for over 3,500 in the same season,do as much arithmatic as you desire, only one of those bitches ever produced a litter and my mucker gifted me 2 of them. Its not whats in your kennel that matters, its often better sourced elsewhere. Con6212 155
ffs lads, its not hard to get a lurcher that has/can catch few thousand rabbits in its lifetime lollol get a lurcher, get it out, get it fit, let dog see rabbit, keep doing this and after a few seasons they soon mount up, hardest part is getting the bunnies, to run, but they are there if you want them. Iv had couple bitches over the years, they all caught bunnies, and a few each tbh, don't mean I bred off them. I don't know if this guys bitch os good enough, I don't care I ain't after a pup lol Thank you lol anyone would think I said she killed thousands of koala bears with some of the responses lol Quote Link to post

DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Have you thought about Ryan's Oscar mate? He's a decent all round dog with a good lump of saluki in him. Quote Link to post
Con6212 155
The thought did cross my mind jim, but Ryan will tell you himself oscars not got the greatest stamina. I'm looking at a stud dog with wind to burn, so the pups then have a half decent amount off it. Quote Link to post
