Coming In Season

Just a quick question I have a 4 year old bitch who has been coming in season every 6 months she has now gone nearly a month over would there be a chance she could have changed to 12 months thanks for any info

I had a bitch that would alternate between 6 and 9 months, so it can happen, and it's not that rare either

most bitches unless worked hard are pretty regular in their cycles , changes in diet , stress or infections can alter it but not regularly.

Mine always came in every 6 months but has just come in, 3 months late

My blue bitch is random as f**k had 3 month cycles at first now she just came in season after 12 months !!

My brindle bitch had one at 10 months old. That was 14 months ago. Not had one since.

 

My old red bitch was 6 monthly and you could almost guess it to the day.

Many bitches stop or have more irregular seasons when working very hard, exercise Induced Amenorrhea, this is due to abnormal hormone production, (science alert,) gonadotropin releasing hormone from the hypothalamus can be reduced when the body is undergoing stressor of intense exercise which leads to reduction of the pituitary releasing luteinizing and follicle stimulating hormones, these are needed to regulate the ovaries and production of estrogen/progesterone hormones, without them no season but also longer term problems with bone health..
