Corvid Time.

Some of my permissions, are and have, cut the grass fields, attracting many crows and magpies to land and feed amongst the exposed earth/ stubble.

I have a few hides (natural) built around these fields so late this afternoon i took the rabbit head, feet, skin and giblets(de- frosted) and two magpies (de-frosted) to the fields, that were shot at the new garden centre perm` just recently.

I simply threw the rabbit remains onto the grass stubble and mounted the dead magpies on cradles looking as though they were feeding off the giblets and rabbit head.

My hide is well maintained and not one bird new i was there.

So the ambush was set at 30 yards, visits were fairly slow but managed 5 magpies/ 5 shots in 3 1/2 hours with my Gat 100 kt on a by pod in 177 flavour. It was nice to get out again .

By the way, i will freeze and re use the rabbit remains once more but i will discard the old for new magpies (when i have them) as a twice /three times used magpie becomes a bit of a give away to a wily magpie "the eyes"

Great shooting of those bandits. A pair came into our garden recently and wreaked havoc on a nest of young robins. So I'm never too sad to see a few less around although I always admire their craftiness.

just undecided on what cal as i may give 177 another go

 

but it will take a few mths as i pay weekly for them but dont get it until iv pay,d for it

 

i just hope i get on with this one

Your buying a full length HW 100 Sport aren`t you, in .177 flavour to boot ? - that will be great for night time shooting
