MIKE 18
Took my young lurcher dog out tonight for a little shine about .He has been out a couple of times but not had any success unfortunately but conditions were good tonight dark and a nice little breeze so I decided to give him another go .There aren't many rabbits local to me and they are quite difficult to catch as the ground is shite but when you know the area well you can pick up a few here and there ............... so first run grass is still long but he did well to turn it a few times before it made it's escape through the fence .......... a short walk and we were approaching another runnable area ...... as we approached and walked up the embankment we both spotted the silouette of a bunny hopping towards the fenceline so I flicked on the beam the dog was well sighted so I decided to slip him .......... bit of a long slip but christ he didn't half accelerate turned the rabbit off the fence and back into the field they played zig zag along the fenceline a few times then the strike and the squeal signalled Cody's first catch on the lamp .Then the test of training ........... he retreived live almost to hand and so the journey begins :11: Quote Link to post
