oneredtrim 148
With all due respect to Bob Shannon (grew up with his younger brothers) he'd not be the trainer to source if serious title fights were someones aspirations. Peter Fury asked a pal of mine to take over Tysons training, he shook his head...i asked him if he had the hump with peter and he told me not at all, later he flicked me a little vid of tyson training with no words attached to the mail...i got his point, he'd have needed to start from scratch. Bob Shannons more of a painter&decorator than a world class trainer aint he?...didnt do Hatton too many favours...shame he didnt stick with Billy Graham...i see they was re-united this week...bet theres a few regrets there...so who was the mate of yours oneredtrim?? are you saying Peter Fury was looking to off load Tyson??...why would he do that?...he may not be no Muhammed Ali...but he is mandatory contender for the world title...with all due respect No i dont believe Peter was looking to offload AKA, he knows me pal since thier early moss side days and the helping hand was voiced after me pal had pulled him asking had he (peter) taught him (Ty) how f**k up a specific training technique. That's not so much a story about me and my pals but more one exampling how course their techniques are and how assistance was so easilly requested once amongst known faces. Yeah...Bobs a fine decorator...with enough troubles on his plate at the mo Edited June 20, 2015 by oneredtrim
AKA-BRINDLE 879
Out of interest...what specific training technique was it?...Tyson may not be the most refined boxer...but he does have the basic down pretty well. Just googled Shannon...thats some pretty f***ing serious 'troubles'.. Edited June 20, 2015 by AKA-BRINDLE
Gaz_1989 9,539
I enjoyed that. Lol. So what are people's predictions? Fury will just pinch a win off Klitscho around the same time that Joshua beats dillan white and then the pair of them will go head to head? And AJ will beat fury in round 2? ??? oneredtrim 148
Out of interest...what specific training technique was it?...Tyson may not be the most refined boxer...but he does have the basic down pretty well. Just googled Shannon...thats some pretty f***ing serious 'troubles'.. I do and i dont remember AKA, to be truthful i'm not intrested enough, i'm completely non-plussed about the heavy-weight scene. I only really recalled it cause me pals voice went up whilst i was busy scoffing and it was obvious peter had threw the objection up to what me pal had said with me pal replying 'Don't talk like a twat Peter'....it was Peter's turn to serve and after a delay the training offer was voiced with me pal instantly shaking his head in a dramatic fashion. I've enough sense to know his unwillingness was not anything to do with dough but more a mentality that was capable of looking him in the eyes and telling him they know best (when he had knew em before Ty was born). Me pals me training partner, he's got the kind of eagle eyes you dont want around on a day you want to sneak a few cheats in. The shannon family have had a few tragic troubles landed on em over the yrs.

AKA-BRINDLE 879
Feck me!....these Tyson Fury threads dont half get a bit nasty...lighten up lads!...after reading the betting odds on the other page...was thinking on having a flutter on the Paul Smith v Andre Ward fight tomorrow morning...Smith must be a massive underdog...maybe worth a tenner on him to spice things up? 1/40 is what i saw.......bit humiliating for the lad really i dont think anyone in a 2 horse race can be odds like that.......that said, its hard to picture him winning i think Ward will stop him mid to late rounds. Split me tenner...£5 on Smith to win by decision/technical decision 1/40...£5 on Smith to win y KO TKO1/20...found a four leaf clover walking the dogs today nearby a hand full of hens teeth and a rabbits foot snagged on a unicorns horn...did i mention they call me lucky Brindle? Well i didnt expect Smith to come in 4lb+ over weight and out of shape...that was poor..Wards good but.he didnt even have a go...thought when he landed at the start of the 7th here we go...but no...we knew he was the underdog...but just looks like he turned up for a payday...but f**k it! its Fathers day...and one of my daughters is taking me down the pub for a pint later...all the best lads! gnasher16 30,217
I hardly think it's fair to pick on an old man in his late fifties that's got athritis and only weighs ten stone with all his clothes on ... Calling him names is not righty cushty you should be ashamed ... Imagine if it was your old fella ......... Not just yet on any of your presumptions pffffff ! Bob Shannons more of a painter&decorator than a world class trainer aint he? All i meant about Bob Shannon is the fact he,s been a recognised boxing trainer for a number of years......the obvious choice would of been Brian Hughes but to end up with a team around him who have no experience of top class boxing to me was naive.
