Ferret locator collars Mk 3

Can you put electrical tape or celletap around the locator part on the collar to stop the batery compartment opening i really dont want to lose £47 lol

Can,t see any reason why you can,t put a bit of leccy tape or similar round the battery compartment for extra security.I would think over time the snap connectors on them may become worn batteries are still bloody fiddly to fit tho..... if the transmitter compartment did open you would only loose 2 batteries as either end is fed through the collar as you are aware yourself.

the compartment cant come apart while on the ferret, and even if it did which it wont, you would only loose the batteries as both parts of locator are attached to collar

I tape mines up all the time

taping wont hurt .you can also use the ff3 coller with the old mark one recever box you just have to alter the depths [re calabrate]thay good bit of kit the ff3
