If it was not for my job, where without a car I cannot work, I would honestly give up driving. The standard of driving today is abysmal. We all make mistakes and if it is something trivial we usually

Thjs hot weather is doing my head in, all these young women with practically nowt on, i spend more time on the pavements than i do on the road, dashboards full of teeth marks

He meant initiating braking and indicating at the same time. Not actually braking and indicating at the same time, which obviously you have to do. As in, you should indicate in plenty of time before p

This could be good. Flash my headlights when some moron is doing less than than the speed limit on the motorway (when I'm on the bike), flash my headlights when out in the MG (as everyone knows we must acknowledge each other), and flash my headlights to other lorry drivers to let them know that clearly their vehicle is faster than mine and can in fact get out of the fecking way of other road users.

Lorry drivers that think they're Lewis Hamilton and try to overtake on a hill, biggest pisser is folk that cruise in the overtaking lane causing other drivers to drive up the outside of them...Oh and BMW drivers...they just seem to be total pricks and don't get me started on old folk or women. There should be a pink motorway just for them. Rant over

has it crossed your mind that not everybody is the fantastic driver that you are.first lesson of the road assume everybody is stupid

Apologies for being flippant.

You are correct in your last point that's for sure.

So, help me because I am still confused, when I overtake you and you flash you are telling me it is safe to pull into the left hand lane?

If that is the case then the car overtaking you that i haven't seen is in the middle lane, so the safest thing for me to do is pull into the left hand lane, which I would do whether you flashed me or not, unless I was overtaking another car or lorry. So are you flashing me to say it's okay to pull in or are you flashing me to remind me to pull in to avoid the car that I possibly haven't seen but you have that is going to rear end me?

Had a lorry near take us out once, luckily we swerved in time, he just took the wing mirror off. This was at say 60 so if himself not had swerved we would likely be brown bread right now :icon_eek:

Same week had an old merc swerve INTO us on a wee country road. Into the verge we went and off went the merc. We went looking the bugger after it happened but he/she was gone hammering up the road. Mental fecking kamikaze!!

Seen the car a month or so after there was a Chinese woman driving it. But the person driving that day was a man.

you are thinking with the mind of a half tonne car driver that can stop quickly and manouver easily i am thinking with the mind of a 44 tonne lorry driver who cannot just weave around and stop on the spot.when i flash you in i am protecting myself not you a car speeding behind me can pull out and be on your bumper in a few seconds he brakes to avoid you in the middle lane i brake to avoid you both accidents don't stay in lanes you know lol belieive me mate these things happen my dashcam is full of incidents like it so for the sake of flashing my lights i'll risk upsetting you lol

Is that why you are flashing.....really. I thought the reason lorry drivers flashed lorry drivers in was to tell them it was safe to do so because of the length of the vehicle. When driving a long vehicle it's sometimes hard to judge when it's safe to return to the slower lane....:a quick flash tells the driver infront it is safe to do so.

Well that's why I flash lorries or long vehicles in.

Anyway I can't see where the problem is...it's common courtesy and anyone should be glad of it.
