Nice Sunny Morning

Recommended Posts

Great pics lads,,,you got to have them broke to the stinkers,,,but equally the stinkers have to steady round the dogs,,,and it's plain to see those are,,,

Too right Tomo,...

When waiting for bolters,.the action is often fast and furious and a made dog will strike the rabbit in an instant...There is very little time to think,...so a lurcher must be well broken to ferrets,....or it can get,... emotional..

The only thing that worries me when I see the Ferts climbing about all over the dogs is when they start getting a little bit close to the dogs eyes.

I pulled one of the Ferts off my young dogs head one morning just before it was about to dive in for a nice scooby snack.. the dog was just laid there enjoying the ride and the ferret definitely had ulterior motives for this liaison...lol.

Better to have the dog a bit wary and just keep out there way I think. Mine is a bit too friendly with the ferrets in the yard and his just dieing to play. In the field he ignores them and last year ferreting the leaves rustled and he pounced and at the last second realised it was a ferret and jumped back so looking good. But I still have them out together every day or two in the yard. The other week out the corner of my eye I saw him open his mouth to mouth one which I stopped. It may have been playful intent but he can forget that
