shropshire mole 190
Have had a phone call to help control stoats around some poultry. I guess it would be same type of control as for rats, but just in case not will ask, "Whats the best way to control"? Fenn traps in tunnels with a egg as bait? Quote Link to post

leo1 134
Just put a Fenn in a tunnel along the outside of the coops. Shouldn't need to use an egg but a couple of loose feathers scattered about will do the job 4 Quote Link to post

unclepesta 101
darcy is totally correct for uk Under EU law, since July 2013, only killing traps that meet the standards of the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards should be used for stoats. Quote Link to post
unclepesta 101
see section 4 4.2 file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/My%20Documents/Downloads/NPAP_code_of_practice_for_the_use_of_vertebrate_traps_-_2014.pdf and stoats and weasels are defined. Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
All spring traps have to be defined on the STAO, (or clones), if they are to be used on listed species , except mice, rats and moles. The 'break back' rat trap types are illegal to be used for anything other than rats, mice and moles. 3 Quote Link to post

I give trapping and snaring another ten years, then it's all finished. Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,738
It is a shame that the modified Victor Rat Trap cannot be legally used against Stoats.... If set in the correct manner,..this modestly priced tool is a superbly humane killer of Stoats... But,..there ya go.... 1 Quote Link to post
