man o kent 269
Do you think that if you had the room in the kennel, you'd keep a dog that you knew just wouldn't stay? For those really nasty, awkward deep spots where your heart sinks as you know there's someone home, or for when you need a quick bolt and be on your way because of too many joe public wandering about. crazydave 185
Would keep one in my kennel but wouldn't be my goal to make 1. There is some really big earth's around my way what a dog like this would be perfect for but it would never be bred from and would always be classed as a failed digging dog. Nothing wrong with keeping a dog like this you just have to be truthful with your self and everyone else. Regards dave Edited June 9, 2015 by crazydave 1 Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
I'd fall out with the dog if it did that.. I know it would be handy. But I would still see it as a failure. 1 Quote Link to post
man o kent 269
I was thinking the same thing, would be a handy dog to have sometimes Quote Link to post
crazydave 185
I would fall out with the dog but if it is uses full why would you get rid? You have to way up the pros and cons for yourself. But at the same time you should only ever need 1 of these in your kennel. Edited June 9, 2015 by crazydave Quote Link to post
Zilverhaze 1,627
I think If it did a few minits it could be handy if it dose a few hours it whuld be a liability 1 Quote Link to post

chris87 297
Ive a little cocker x russle nearly 3 , best bushing dog ive seen, loves rats and has started dropping down in last 12mnts. Shel stay for bout half hour then comes up has a look round gasp of air and down she goes again. Ive got a fare few digs to her and im starting to realise the bolting capabilites she has and have had 2or 3 bolts of her. I know shes a pure cull to a out and out digging man but to me she just keeps getting better and better every day out. O and she can also be called out (eventually after few mins of callin) as i said shes a busher but starting to be a very very usefull little bitch! 1 Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Going back to the original question, could I own a 20 minute dog? No. Could I own a 20 minute bitch? Yes. There's no way I could keep a dog that was a cowardly f****r. With a bitch I could put up with it as long as I was getting plenty with it. 3 Quote Link to post
