neil r 1,861
Are there any lure collectors on here that can tell me what the crack is with the bagley bang o lure #1 . I picked some up at the weekend for next to nothing and i had a look online for some more last night and cant believe the prices they are going for . They ranged from $25 to $125 , obviously colour plays a part but why so expensive for a lure thats only 1.5inch long and weighs a couple of grams Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
The Bang O Lure was the first balsa wood bait made by the late Jim Bagley. Improved and perfected over the years this bait offers tremendous performance to serious anglers. Fish it on the surface like a jerk bait then on the retrieve it has a very wide wobble that big fish love. The body is wider than other balsa minnow style baits making this lure very easy to cast. Amazon say's above , i think i would sell it mate,if it's worth a few quid, because i would be to careful casting it and would fish it different but what ever way you look at it you win, cost little, worth much and a great fish catcher good luck whatever you do. 1 Quote Link to post
neil r 1,861
It is tempting to shut them , but im curious to see if they are worth the money they are going for so im going to have an hour on the canal before dark. Hopefully i wont lose them or ill have to hide the razor blades Quote Link to post
neil r 1,861
I've just emailed the bloke from The colorsofbagleys because they could be very rare , according to the site the no1 in sinking versions are like hens teeth and mine are both sinkers . I don't think they are nothing special in use , I tried them last night and had one hit on one but a switch to a yo zuri goby brought a couple of perch straight away and the yellow kopyto took a couple of jacks and perch from the same area . 1 Quote Link to post
Mr Wilkes 3,031
Don't know anything about the bagley bang lures but I do know the yo-zuri goby is one of the best out there. I wouldn't be without mine, very difficult to obtain tho. Quote Link to post

Ive found that a twitch and pause retrieves work well for perch with them . I got mine for a fiver each from a tackle shop that opened in accrington recently , they had a couple left last time i was in . 1 Quote Link to post
