Donna Wildwood 288
I *think* it is to do with dilution.... Silver is dilute poley.... Merle is dilute black..... Albino is the absence of pigmetation not the dilution of it... Er... Bit complicated to recall all this after a few whiskeys lol! Off to find my notes.... be back in a while 1 Quote Link to post
Leeview 791
its common in the USA but nobody's definatively proven that its in the Britsh gene pool,Schoemakker an American veterinary came over a couple of years back taking samples and found no trace was evident Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
The one 8,482
We maybe don't have any signs of it here but you can bet that's where all the fancy colours started out from breeding silver to silver Quote Link to post
Andrew Russ 31
Thanks guy, so arethey likleytochange colour and get some markings??? What were you hoping for out of the litter? I like poleys myself. To be honest mate this litter was unexpected, my gill got out and was picked up by rspca, returned to me after two weeks. didnt even know she was up the duff lol. Im realy happy with how she is coping and I dont really mind what colours they turn out was a bit shocked to see such vivid grey/blue colour. never seen it before. As formy preferance I just want a good worker, I think all ferrets have a personality of their own socolourdont matter. Quote Link to post

Andrew Russ 31
Spoke with a guy in the Welsh game fair over the weekend and there looks like there is a good chance that the father could be an wild European polecat. So they are likely to be hybrid kits. I know my area does have a population of wild polies so looks good. Quote Link to post

Be interesting to see how they turn out. Quote Link to post
