Get some new collars ;-)

Thanks for that SS, very informative read there. I came across collars you had made for the Ortovox D1 and I have to say they did look a neat job.

That was the appeal of the Ortovox transmitter, simple, tough and reliable ... Until the thickos got hold of them and started putting 12v camera batteries in them

if you got the 3 best boxes on the market obviously moneys not a problem ... why you messing around trying to fix a old collar ???

The old collar is not broken just could do with a new casing. I would rather have it than the newer rechargeable one that is renowned to give bother. That's why I'm holding off hoping not to have to buy one. Hence the discussion on collars and spares. For your info I don't like the red brick and I'd personally prefer the peips over the Barryvox. First I've heard about trouble with the rechargeables what's the renowned problem.with them?

I know two different guys that the collars wouldn't hold the charge or charge and have just been told by another man on here, had the same problem. A fella I do a bit with bought the new collar and box and had nothing but problems with it sent it back, still wasn't right and sold it on for £100. Edited by THE GENERAL

my mates rechargeable doesn't hold much charge either, wouldn't like to depend on it if things went wrong, the battery ones keep going for ages. ive no o ring in mine but seal it with instant gasket, does the trick,

Of the top of my head I think it's 27 hours of life your supposed to get think it's wrote on the underside of the collar unit

Something like that. I wouldn't chance it, it could vary on the type of battery. First chance I get when it indicates a low battery, I change it.

Don't know what you need exactly but if your just after a small plastic box to put electronics and batteries in Maplins do a range of project boxes in different shapes and sizes, hope this helps.

Nice one stumfelter, just had a look on their website and there's one close to me, going to go and speak to them see if they can come up with a clone. I'll keep yous posted on the outcome.
