jamie_rob 215
Hi just wanting to ask you lot a question about having shotgun and bullet licences. The thing is I'm not a gunman I'm more into my dog's. The thing is I like to go on adventures find new spots to hunt but my friend who I go out with is reluctant to go because he hasn't got any permission, and won't leave his area. He says if he gets caught poaching he could get done because he has his bullet gun and shotgun license but he hardly takes them out when we go out plus we wouldn't take any of his guns out where he hasn't got permission. I normally make some bullsh*t excuse if I get pulled they either say go home or move on. Thanks for input lads, jamie Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Your friend is quite correct, if he gets caught poaching he will almost certainly lose his licenses, something he obviously does not want to do, two choices really, go out with your friend and get some more permission, where he can use his guns legally, or get another friend 2 Quote Link to post
The one 8,513
AS said if caught poaching your mate will loose the lot hes given the licences but theres certain conditions he has to stick to basically be a good boy or loose them is what it comes down to Quote Link to post
jamie_rob 215
I weren't to sure just because I thought if he hasn't got them with him there shouldn't be a problem. At least I know now. Thanks for the advice jamie. Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
Jumping over someones wall and running your dogs is a sure way to find yourself getting the bus home - from the police station ! Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
He sounds quite sensible to stay out of it to me. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Plus in addition to losing his licences, taking a gun on land you don't have permission over is a Criminal Offence of armed tresspass - up to 3 months and / or Level 4 fine. Quote Link to post
jamie_rob 215
Like I said in the post he don't take his gun where he doesn't have permission. Even I'm not that stupid pal. I was just wondering if he came to new areas with me and that's just with dog's not guns. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
If he gets linked to unlawful behaviour then he could lose his guns, whether they're with him or not. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Like I said in the post he don't take his gun where he doesn't have permission. Even I'm not that stupid pal. I was just wondering if he came to new areas with me and that's just with dog's not guns. If he gets caught going through a red light, not paying his TV licence, shoplifting, or poaching with you, etc., etc., he "could" lose his licence and guns, as SS has said he doesn't need to be carrying his guns at the time.
