jcm 2,327
Well last year our lasses mam gave her dog away to what we thought was a good home no money was exchanged the bloke got Bowles leaders food beds etc and I even took him back to his place with the dog and all the gear as was to much there to carry. Today I seen a picture of her on fb found in someone's garden only a few streets away from where she lived with our lasses mam she is in a terrible state full of mange scruffy looking skinny all her face is scared to bits not sure weather he has worked her on fox etc or using her for fighting but she is in a sorry state. The girl who posted the picture on fb I messaged straight away to see if she reacted to the name I told her which she didn't and I thought it was her but I was very unsure anyway I sent the girl a few photos of the dog I was thinking was her anyway I had a few messages from friends saying is this your girlfriends old dog which I thought was but wasn't 100% sure anyway the girl sent me her address and I made my way straight down which is only 5 mins from my house anyway when I got there she came out goi g nuts she deffently remembered me but I was shocked at how bad she looked from last I seen her anyway the people who had her we're happy for me to take her so into the car straight home washed her fed her wormed and flea her and she has settled down very well now but it's gunna be a long road to recovery and bit of a feck on for me as I already had two dogs but things change and for the dogs sake we keeping her as I never want her to be badly treat ever again. It's another thing to think about when giving a dog away sometimes you may not have the time a dog deserves or changing circumstances but 9/10 the dog would still be better off with you than anyone else 13 Quote Link to post

zandy01 3,575
There's some horrible barstewards about and don't deserve to keep animals at all... Saving grace for her now is you're a decent fella and will look after her, she now back in a loving home with a good owner so fair play mate... Hope she comes good for you, sure a bit of time and tlc and you'll turn her round again even if she just a pet/house dog... 2 Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
I don't think I will ever work her but she will be out during the day when mine are working and if she wants to muck in then she can but if she do t then it's fine 1 Quote Link to post

brambles 3,309
Ive always said and stood by it, if your by with the dog for whatever reason you should pts then you have the piece of mind knowing where the animal is, alot of the time its better away than ending up on the f@cking lurcher merry go round being mistreated by some prick, well done buddy for fetching her home 11 Quote Link to post
CushtyJook 1,097
Good work mate, I lost a terrier a few years ago found it a month later other side of the country absolutely ten times different dog to when we had her she was scared of everything very skinny and had teeth missing she was obviously took but why take a dog if your going to abuse it, sadly she had to be put down as got very aggressive and started biting everyone who would even speak to her and had no quality of life in a house full of kids and noise as she was old and ruined by some horrible c**t Quote Link to post
dogmad riley 1,348
Good man for doing what you doing no dog deserves to be treat Like crap. I have got rid of a dog once never again as you don't know there fate. still wish to this day I never got rid. Hope the dog does well Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
The thing is the dog was my lasses and was not mine but I was the one who got her for them as a pup so seen her grow although I never got on very well with her if I'm honest I didn't really like her. Saying that when I seen the pic of today my heart sunk I felt partly responsible for the way she is atm even tho I'm not but I'm glad she is here now and we will learn to get along but it's gunna be hard having 3 dogs here and a terrier at my mams to look after but I'm sure I will cope and she should/will be back to a picture of health in no time Quote Link to post

Good luck with the dog hope she gets the life she deserves. Dogs a man's best friend but man's a arsehole Quote Link to post
