kilbs66 23
Received a call earlier from Villaman reference going bunny hunting tomorrow night. Sat down in front of the TV cracked a beer put on the GP practice and settled down then realised the rat works reaper doesn't have a scope on it. Put the sight on,set out new target at 27 yards, spray the squirrel target at 36 yards and place a new splash target at 57 yards. Take the reaper upstairs to the shooting window (sons bedroom) look down the sight at the 27 yard target then 33yards and finally the 57 yarder. Bugger me if a squirrel is not sat in front of the splash target chewing on some nuts I leave for the rats that infest every chicken coop. Shit!!!!! Got rifle but it's not sighted in. I drop the reaper on the bed run downstairs and grab the rat works R10 MKII. Rush back upstairs plop the R10 on the pillow which is my rest and look down the sight stunned he is still there. I take a deep breath check my yardage on my scope cap cover as per Chairgun and give furry tail 4 mil dots of holdover. Picture below is the view from the window. Zoom in and you can see the two silver feed bins (squirrels chewed through the old plastic ones) the splash target at 57 yards is in between them.I watched furry tail for a bit noting his head movements and then slowly took up the slack on the trigger. He went down and came up with a nut in his front claws and started to chew. I pulled the trigger and the R10 spat the 14.2gr JSB Exact towards fluffy. The pellet struck and he made a giant leap into the air and landed flat twitching away tail flicking. I run downstairs grab the Umarex 1911 colt (the finisher) and headed up the garden with my faithful killer dog Archie the miniature Dachsund (don't laugh my Mrs bought him for me). On arrival I see the corpse with blood coming from its ears and nose. WHAT A SHOT!!!!!!!! Love days like this. 13mph wind coming in from my 10 o'clock.Thank you ratworks!!!!!!!! 3 Quote Link to post
