Popular Post fox digger 1,086
I got one of those dreadded calls earlier today.... I had an idea when i saw the name come up on the phone it was going to be a job i wouldn't like and sure enough it was!! It was an the old lady that lives up the road from me, she owns a farm and her husband isn't long gone, i do alot of bits and pieces for them when they'd ask. Long story short she wanted me to call up, the electric fence wasn't working!!! Lol, did i have ye going!!! I was fooling about the back of the house following the cable to try find a break and the little lad in the picture and its litter mate were in the hedge beside me while i was there. I called the lady over to show her and the little shit walked up the lawn towards us to within about 10 feet. I got a good video clip on the phone of him comming upto us and sitting watching us only feet away, bear in mind this is in the country and they would have no contact with people and she told me it was the first time she had seen them. It was comical! The funny part is that there mother has given me many many an entertaining evening when out walking the mutts. I only live a couple of fields accross from this farm house and for the last 12months i can be guarenteed if i went to a certain ditch id meet her and she'd lead the crew on a merry dance, i could stand and watch her go and know exactly what path she would go on any of the directions she decided to head for, always comming back to do a circle again and if she was tired she would climb up into the ivy on the fallen gable on an outbuilding and sit tight with the boys below screaming up at her!! I could have had her on many occasions because she was so predictable but i always stacked the odds in her favour and was waiting to round up the dogs once she came near the ivy gable! There was two different times she was hunted by local packs and i told them where she would end up but she'd give them a good spin first and asked that she be given best once in the ivy, both times she proved the victor!!! I was telling the woman this story and she was laughing at me and telling me im gone soft as she knows my main game is fox but there are circumstances where every man that hunts with a dog would sooner see the game run for another day. She drives the dogs mad different nights when she'd be out my yard but i will leave her to it and hope the little lad in the picture will bring as much entertainment as his mother has!! I'll leave the catching to further afield!!! 25 Quote Link to post

Id be thinking the same mate, if she didn't like it she wouldn't be sitting in the same spot every evening only a few hundread yards from my pens! After a good spin and rounding up the troops and locking them back in you'd see her crossing back again heading for her usual spot looking down on us!!! Its comical!! 1 Quote Link to post
