man o kent 269
Seen a folding Italian shotgun, that could suit my needs. But, and a big but, it has a big crack along the top of the stock from the action. Are there any cheap fixes? Don't need to be pretty at all Quote Link to post

mad4it 695
it will be a nice gun when fixed. i have never seen a folding 20 Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
It probably could be fixed but if it's a serious weakness then it will likely be more than the gun is worth. Quote Link to post
abarrett 462
Mate of mine got an o/u 20 bore for next to nothing With a propa crack from the action down the stock full length Along the top He drilled it across the stock filled it with wood glue Got wooden dowels knocked them through the holes left them to dry Cut them off flush and sanded the whole stock and finished it Worked a treat cost about £6 for the bits You could see it was DIY but it never missed a beat Worth a go if it's cheap enough Quote Link to post
mally 832
I used to work in a gunshop and once a stock is cracked/ broken there worthless tbh, yes you can get them repaired but there never the same again and do you really want to risk your safety for the sake of a few quid. Quote Link to post
Cedric 132
Modern wood glue is stronger than the wood it holds together. As Abarrett said, dowel and clamp. Properly placed will fix it fine. Quote Link to post
