Popular Post TOMO 26,208
Thought I would write a few words about my friend paddy who passed away last Friday . I've known paddy for 30 years,,he was just a few years older than me in his early 50,, coal miner for most of his adult life,,,right up till last summer when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Paddy loved country sports ,,but loved his ferreting and dog work the most,,he could drop a long net as well as sit and knit one,,all in all a proper countryman ... The real sad part of this story,,is that paddys wife Joy died back in 2007,, in her mid 40,s,,again from the big C,,they had been together from school. Four or five years befor joy passed , they had adopted a son,,,and instead of adopting a baby, they adopted and older boy, around 7 or 8,, who I don't think had had the best start in life,,but he took to them as much as they took to him,,and loved him as much as if he were there biological child,, Their son is now 19,, or 20,,and luckily has an extended family in the village, who he's going to live with.. Anyway just a few words about paddy who it was a pleasure to know and call my friend,,, hers a few pics of him over the years out hunting,,,,he's easy to pic out,,he's the slim one,,lol Edited June 4, 2015 by TOMO 38 Quote Link to post
