devvo 0
Got started for 8:30am, on the farm where my cuson works, farmer has had soem trouble from the rabbits eating off his rape, and has ripped hedges out to stop the getting settled lol. so there wasnt much for us to go at but we showed up and showed willing as he asked us to have a go with the ferrets. Where he had pulled the hedge out, they had dug a couple of holes out again so we started here, first set was a 2 holer which produce a nice bolter . Then we worked our way round the hedges towards the farm and back to the landy, no more bunnies to be had. So we drove back into the village and tried some other permission nearby. On this bit of land we got two from a wood pile, no nets set but our hob holds them nicely in wood piles, i love ferreting wood piles (by wood piles i mean the brash left when we felled and logged a tree) then walked 2 miles to the river till we found a set. Ive been tolled not to ferret river banks as they are deep, so doing as i was tolled we didnt ferret these but we found a few that were in the bank bottom, if that makes sense? these produce 1 from the first ( missed a hole . The second nice set produced 2 nice bolters So 6 rabbits in 5hours, nice walk some fresh air and i seen 2 red kites all in all not a bad day even though it was cold and very windy Sorry theres not many pics, i forgot to charge the batterys up sorry about the pic sizes Edited November 11, 2007 by devvo Quote Link to post
