Deker 3,478
For general work .22 up to about 30ft lb, after that a .22lr. 4 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
As above, but .177 at 15 ft/lb is a very effective air gun calibre/ power to consider also. About as sweet as it gets in .177. Remember though, "all that power does not make you a better shot (j. darcy) but fieldcraft makes you a "true hunter" (me ) atb Edited June 3, 2015 by mark williams Quote Link to post
random 659
For general work .22 up to about 30ft lb, after that a .22lr. If he's after squirrel and woodie some shots will be upward? Would .22lr not be unsuitable? I don't use FAC but just thought I'd raise the question... Quote Link to post

But why would you want/need more than a 30ft lb air rifle to stop a squirrel anyway, most people get by just fine with 12ft lb. 1 Quote Link to post
bugzy 1
.22 at 30 ft/ibs mate more than enough power to finish of what you want to hunt with a well placed shot to the head or heart .25 is a bit overkill but as mentioned before it is . 1 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
No such thing as overkill, dead is dead, but bear in mind your choice of pellets in .22 is vast, in .25 quite small. Quote Link to post

You'd have a better chance of receiving a reply. Quote Link to post
