walshie 2,804
Just been down to the little stream by my house. I mean little as in it's about 3ft wide and 3" deep. You can't see it properly in these pictures but there is an obvious run coming out of the water, up the muddy bank and into the undergrowth. It's about a foot wide. Can't see any proper footprints in it, but it looks like it has been used recently as the mud is all shiny. I can't imagine it being a mink or otter as it would starve to death living in this stream. What do you reckon?

CushtyJook 1,097
Mink will live on streams like that I've seen mink in ditches with less water miles from any water course

Born Hunter 17,837
Can't see any tracks in that mud? First glance you would think billy,,,or roe deer If it's a billy, you should be able to see the claw marks, if it's a roe the elongated slots. Those two are usually pretty easy to identify. treecreeper 1,136
Water looks plenty big enough for a mink or otter , they will use the little streams as motorways to access other places but could be out tbh.
