Agreed you have got about as good as any man could have it up your way mate, no rat race, people are f***ing normal to each other. I can see already I will have that here, it's a very different story

The expat lifestyle is certainly not for everyone that's for sure. But for sure if you can stick it then ( depending what industry you are in) there is a lot more opportunity to make a lot of cash fast which I think is why people do it.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments, very interesting. I look forward to the day when i get back for good

Lived and worked abroad for 12 years. And abroad is not what people make it

I like my nice holidays but couldn't think of living any where else

That's why this island is so productive and powerful every one wants to be here

No cyclones earth quakes

We moan about what ever the weather brings but it's my home and I love it

Ive been away from England for 12 years, visited once for a week, stopping at my brothers and hated it couldnt wait to get back.

Things like the consumerism, the rat race, living on top of each other reminded me why I always knew one day I would call somewhere else home.

Life is what you make it + a little bit of luck, & home is where you make it.

It is difficult the expat life. I've had the opportunity to work in several countries, I stay in Spain for the convenience of proximity to Blighty for my kids, It cost me a relationship and a feckin high salary but I couldn't move too far.

Could I live in UK now?? Not a sniff, full of feckin idiots, weak government and is heading so far down the shitter even my ex has agreed that Spain is the best for my daughter so all being well she'll join me here later this year. Blighty is heading to a very scary place imo

Maybe it would be better to stay here and try and change it rather than pissing off and abandoning the country you say you love.

Just a thought likes :)

I'd consider moving home if they scrapped 21% VAT and 82% Fuel Tax.

In the mean time I'll keep the money thanks... :victory:

I can see already I will have that here, it's a very different story where I was living.

They are going to build another 20,000 houses in about 10 square miles over the next 10 years and there's only one lot of shit going to be moving in them.

To many people, too many eyeballs and too many agencies looking to steal your money or nick you for something.

If lived where you live, I wouldn't have moved either.

This time last week I was hand railing myself along the cuillen ridge on Skye, with prehistoric peaks as far as the eye can see...some snow capped some In glorious colour....

On Sunday evening I was back on the suffolk delta, with my child , wife, and mother picking shells from a shingle beach to fill the little ones bucket....as the sun said its good byes, it broke over the long wood lines sunken in marshland, tall spires from chocolate box villages stood above them , long prairies stretched from them down to the coast and the sea darkened around our feet.

Never forget there are still some parts of Britain , that are still great .
